fine art portraits for Haley

Haley Broyhill is a talented family portrait photographer and delightful lass who reached out for new headshots for her business. Our headshot session progressed into an inspired fine art portrait session, with painterly boudoir portrait photography to end out the day. We spent a sweet afternoon together in my studio space here in Boone, North Carolina, where we explored natural light at first, sitting near a window and letting the softness of the day weave gently around Haley, occasionally working with my medium format film camera. Later we went to the back of the studio space where I had two lights set up and a simple backdrop of linen cloth, and I played with my favorite soft old daguerrotype Lomography lens. I fell utterly in love with Haley, (as I often do with my clients!) as we worked together. She is a kind and gentle soul who brings the same care and attention to her own work, and I am so glad we were able to create these beautiful headshots that will serve her personally and professionally for years to come.
